2010 ALN Session Types
| Session Type | Description |
| Individual Presentation | Give a 25 to 30 minute presentation in which you share information related to one of the learning tracks. It is anticipated that two such sessions will be presented during each 80-minute concurrent session, giving a 10-minute break between presentations. Each presentation will have 5 minutes for questions, answers, and discussion with the audience. Example: Concurrent Session I 8:15am – 8:45am Presentation 1 8:45am – 8:50am Q&A Presentation 1 8:50am – 9:00am Break/Changeover 9:00am – 9:30am Presentation 2 9:30am – 9:35am Q&A Presentation 2 |
| Group Presentation | Design a panel presentation or other interactive group session related to a learning track that will engage the audience for an entire 80-minute concurrent session. Panel presentations should address a single topic from multiple perspectives. Inter-institutional panel proposals are encouraged. |
| Poster Session | Design a poster to share the main points of your research results or program related to a learning track. You will participate in a display of your poster for one 80-minute concurrent session dedicated to poster presentations only. Poster presentations provide the opportunity for you to both expand your audience and interact individually with interested viewers. We will provide a display board, a small table for your graphic materials and an outlet for your computer. |
*Note: There are only a limited number of full-length 80 minute presentations that can be accommodated. The program committee makes the final decision on which individual or group presentation will be allotted the full 80 minutes or only 35 minutes for a session. The program committee also reserves the right to change the presentation type in order to encourage more participation.
