Extended Abstract
The June Harless Center at Marshall University supports PK-12 schools throughout West Virginia. The purpose of this session is to showcase ways that Harless is bringing PK-12 schools and higher education together. The presentation will take an in-depth look at the importance of this relationship and its overall effect on student learning. Specific topics discussed include: online professional learning communities (PLC's), professional development, and online learning for PK-12 students. PLC's create a community where educators at all levels: including teachers, administrators, pre-service teachers, and university faculty, come together to share, learn, and then act. As a result of these learning communities, professional development is delivered from all stakeholders to enhance learning. All professional development is supported online in order to provide collaboration, methods for implementation and feedback.
