John Sener is the founder/CLO of Sener Knowledge LLC and Sener Learning Services, a consulting practice focused on supporting quality in technology-enabled education through knowledge development and dissemination, evaluation, strategic planning, and learning design. As Director of Special Initiatives for the Sloan Consortium, he is also involved in a wide variety of Sloan-C activities. His career in education and training over the past 30 years is a unique mixture of broad practical experience and academic expertise.
Gary Miller's career in education media and technology-based distance education spans more than four decades. He is Executive Director Emeritus of the World Campus at Penn State, where he also served as Associate Vice President for Outreach. He previously served as Associate Vice President for Program Development and Executive Director of the International University Consortium at the University of Maryland University College. In 2004, he was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame.
Dr. A Frank Mayadas, Senior Advisor for the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, recently retired after 17 years as an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Program Director. As senior advisor to the Foundation, he continues to be involved in online learning and other programs that he had a role in developing. During his time as Sloan Program Director, Dr. Mayadas was involved in a number of areas: online education, globalization of industries, industry studies, and career choice in technical fields. He started the Sloan online learning program in 1993, and is the founding president of Sloan-C (the Sloan Consortium), the premier society for professionals engaged in online education programs.
Dr. Wallace E. Boston is the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Public University System (APUS) and its parent company, American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). Dr. Boston led APUS through its successful accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association from 2002 to 2006. In 2007, he led APEI to an initial public offering on the NASDAQ Exchange. Dr. Boston's academic area of interest is student retention, particularly in online learning environments.
