Extended Abstract

Online students are considered nontraditional and will have different issues that traditional students. Many of these students have full-time jobs, family, time constraints, etc. Faculty as well as university administrators need to be aware of the issues from the students' perspective. Faculty also needs to be aware of the perceived issues from students that can cause a lack of trust and frustration.

While still holding students accountable, we have to understand their obstacles. Working with students from a distance can be challenging for both students and faculty.
