Blended Learning Training for Faculty: Best Practices and Lessons Learned at DeVry University
In 2009, DeVry University made the strategic decision to convert over 600 courses to a blended learning format. Parallel to this effort was the development of a robust training program aimed at DeVry's full time and adjunct faculty throughout the U.S. This session describes the development of a multi-session training class, the introduction of Faculty Blended Champions and the best practices and lessons learned so far in this exciting endeavor.
1. Our approach to blended learning
2. Development of training materials
3. Selection of faculty champions
4. Training the champions
5. What the champions have done to date
6. How to train adjuncts
7. Improving the training with faculty input
8. Best practices learned so far
9. Lessons learned so far If the 80 minute interactive workshop is approved, I would have several of our faculty blended champions join me and have them present mini cases based on their experiences. This section would be highly interactive and focused on sharing their experiences with the audience memvers.
