A successfully implemented staged model for pedagogically-based blended learning. Faculty interest, participation in a two-day June workshop, mentored summer course development, mentored Fall web-enhanced course, training a student Instructional Technology Tutor, mentored Spring hybrid or asynchronous course, development of Web 2.0 materials inclusive of podcasts, audiocast, and lecture capture.

The presentation will cover the movement at Bronx Community College (CUNY) from a collection of pockets of innovative technology into an Office of Instructional Technology. The evolution of a face-to-face faculty technology week into a two-day session followed by summer-long mentoring and two semesters of mentoring in the web-enhanced and distance learning mode, the creation of a three-tiered training program for student instructional technology tutors who assist students as well as faculty, the integration of existing resources instead of 'reinventing the wheel,' and a new focus on a blended online degree. The mistakes we made along the way, and ways to avoid them, will also be discussed.
