The instructors combined a team-teaching approach with a blended learning venue for the course, "Policies, Promises & Election 2008." The "trainer" and "producer" roles assumed by the two instructors worked well in the blended environment, allowing for a useful combination of objectivist and constructivist learning model activities.

First, the two instructors of the course will describe how their roles as "trainer" and "producer" in team-teaching complement a blended learning approach (involving face-to-face activities and synchronous & asynchronous online tools). Second, the instructors will describe the development and organization of the team-taught, blended course "Policies, Promises & Election 2008" (taught during the Fall Semester, 2008). Third, the instructors will discuss why it was important to incorporate both objectivist and constructivist learning activities into the course, and how a blended, team-teaching approach enabled them to meet learning outcome goals. Fourth, we engaged in this approach because it was fun and unique; we want to discuss this aspect of the course. Finally, the presenters will discuss what was learned from this experience and plans for the development of additional team-taught, blended courses.
