After teaching blended courses for many years in one LMS, the presenter offered a course in another LMS for comparison. Does the LMS matter? What do students say? Does the LMS dictate pedagogy? What features do faculty members appreciate? How can educators use this information to make blended learning more powerful?

The presentation will describe a comparison of two learning management systems for web-support in a blended class. While both courses are mathematics methods classes, the presenter will concentrate on the general aspects of what learning management systems can offer a blended classroom, what features students and faculty value in a learning management system used in this context, and how faculty can best employ choice in supporting a blended course.Does the learning management system dictate pedagogy? The comparison allows attendees to examine the issues that impact pedagogy and course success.
