Mahara: open source and comprehensive e-portfolio
This workshop will introduce participants to the Open Source e-portfolio system called Mahara. We will discuss how Mahara can meet the needs of institutional/program assessment, in addition to the myriad of ways it can be used by students to support their own learning and working goals. Participants will create their own portfolios and explore the social networking components the system affords.
- Participants will create their own portfolios and explore the social networking components the system affords.
- Participants will create a personal portfolio using the Mahara system
- Participants will create a group using the social networking component of Mahara
- Participants will learn how to use Mahara to assess student work
- Participants will learn how to use Mahara to build campus-wide support and use of the system--to support co-curricular activities as well as those the occur in the classroom.
