Introducing the Sloan-C JALN Advisory Panels

As an institutional and professional leadership organization dedicated to integrating online education into the mainstream of higher education, Sloan-C seeks to fully engage its members in developing content that reflects and directs the growth of educational quality, scale and breadth.
This call for papers is for a special issue of the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks that will be devoted to research and effective practices in faculty development. The Faculty Advisory Board is especially interested in theory- or evidence-based best practices in faculty development as well as solid, well-designed and -executed research on the topic of faculty development. Faculty development can include online or blended education held for community college or higher education faculty.

Effective Practices submitted by September 30, 2011will be eligible for awards to be featured at a special session at the 17th Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning - The Power of Online Learning: Stimulating New Possibilities. Submissions will be evaluated by these criteria: innovation, replicability, impact, evidence and scope.
