2012 Sloan-C Blended Learning Conference and Workshop: Perfecting the Blend
April 23-24, 2012
Hyatt Regency Milwaukee - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
We are pleased to announce that David Wiley will be the Keynote Speaker.
On behalf of the 9th Annual Sloan Consortium Blended Learning Conference and Workshop steering committee, I welcome you. This year’s conference theme, “Perfecting the Blend,” reflects our current efforts to further explore the blending of the student experience through practice and research while harnessing the potential of new and emerging technologies, pedagogies, and practices in a greater array of educational institutions facilitating an overall improvement in the state of education.
For the first time in the history of the Blended Learning Conference and Workshop, it is being held at a new location - Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For the past eight years, Mary Niemiec has welcomed educators to Chicago from around the world to share in developing a community sharing in the idea of blended learning as a unique instructional modality. We have explored in these years what is blended learning, and how can blended learning improve student learning, and how can blended learning help us overcome our challenges. Mary has led the conference and the attendees to great success. We are happy to still have her with us as part of the steering committee as we move forward in this new chapter. Thank you, Mary.
As we move to a new chapter, we take almost a decade of experience and knowledge with us as we look for opportunities to perfect our practices informed by our research and strive to overcome challenges by continuing to innovate, share, and collaborate. This year we have introduced five conference tracks: teaching and learning, faculty support, student support, leadership and administration, and research.
The conference is organized into two days with the first day starting with an array of interactive workshops followed by an afternoon including our key note presentation, information sessions, poster sessions, and vendor showcases. The workshop was our original foundation, and we look forward to providing interactive and engaging opportunities to gain experience, gather and share information and ideas, and network with colleagues. The schedule is presented in a consumable manner to best meet your needs.
Thank you for joining our community and helping us transform education through blending.
