Welcome to the Launch Pad!
This year, the Launch Pad brings a new dimension to the ET4Online Symposium by infusing the conference with the energy of educational technology entrepreneurs, creating a more robust ecosystem for innovation and heightened opportunities for learning and reflection.
Our inaugural Launch Pad features eight educational technology startups that have invented solutions to problems faced by today’s online educators. Conference registrants are encouraged to click on the logos below to familiarize yourself with our Launch Pad participants. During the conference, visit with these entrepreneurs at their tables in the Launch Pad area of the exhibition hall (Mezzanine) to get a glimpse of what they envision tomorrow’s online learning spaces will look like. Conference attendees are encouraged to ask our Launch Pad participants to demonstrate their products for a more detailed look into the latest ed-tech offerings entering the market.
Our Launch Pad participants are not traditional exhibitors, but instead will be focused on interaction with attendees throughout the conference. They will be at their Launch Pad area tables to discuss their companies and products, but they also will be interacting with attendees as they participate side-by-side with you in sessions throughout the conference. We encourage you to ask them questions and involve them in your conversations about current and future innovations and technology applications in online learning.
Finally, we invite you to join us for three special sessions at the conference focused on innovation in online learning:
Tuesday, April 9 - "The Art of the Startup" workshop, presented from 8:30am - 12:00pm in Celebrity 7. For our virtual attendees, please note that this workshop will be part of our live-streamed webcast from the conference.
Thursday, April 11 - "Ed-Tech Startups: Lost in the Desert", presented from 7:30am-8:00am in Celebrity 1-4 by James Byers, founder of Wikispaces. Join us for breakfast and learn from a startup founder about the simple steps you can take to help young, promising companies thrive.
Thursday, April 11 - "The Art of Innovation" plenary panel, presented from 8:00am-9:00am in Celebrity 1-4. Immediately following the breakfast with Wikispaces, join us for our final plenary session as EdSurge's Tony Wan (lightly) grills a representative group of participants from the Launch Pad startups for their insights on the evolving education landscape and how their efforts are breaking down existing barriers and creating new opportunities for learners of all ages.
