Students incorporated prior knowledge into their concept maps and revealed conceptions that were later better developed. The present research sought to identify various connections within students' statistical understanding. Cooperative learning is not often utilized in college settings and less so, in online education. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of using a linked, online class model. One class of student co-enroll in two separate courses with each professor participating in both. Results show increased learning in three realms.

Students in two separate intermediate-level writing courses created group video projects to translate written concepts into visual compositions. Using Flip video cameras and peer review technology, students produced "digital manifestos" and nature statements. Results showed statistically significant increases in several behavior and attitude measures.

This non-experimental quantitative study examined relationships between gender, area of practice, and language in sense of community among students in an Online Master's Program. Four independent t-tests and one-way ANOVA were performed to assess gender differences in sense of community. The results suggested no significant relationship between those variables.

A survey was administered across 7 university academic departments to evaluate student beliefs about the role of multimedia on learning. The survey showed that student using multimedia had many positive attitudes about multimedia. Learning was examined by course exam test scores. In two courses using multimedia, exam scores were higher.

This project investigated satisfaction with instructor-student interaction with addition of audio-visual feedback in a graduate online nursing course. Twenty-eight students completed online surveys. The anchor question identifying current levels of satisfaction with course interaction revealed significant differences in means and unsolicited emails.
