Abstract

Do you aspire to leadership roles or wish you had more impact in online education? This workshop will help you work on practical problems and initiatives, and develop a broader impact at your institution by becoming a "manager with influence."

Extended Abstract

The goal of this session is to provide participants with strategies designed to build stronger relationships with colleagues, to become a more effective partner, and to have a broader impact on moving the institution's strategic online teaching and learning vision forward. This session will be of special interest to those who want to have a broader impact particularly in relation to online teaching and learning. This session will encourage managers to develop a more enriched cognitive map of their role and place within the University, encouraging them to see the whole and not just their part, and to become a "master manager" akin to a "master teacher." As a result of this session participantants will: 1) gain strategies for cultivating an "impact reputation" at their institution, and 2) develop a plan for increasing their impact, solving a particular problem, and/or effecting change at their institution.
