He is an adult learning expert, educational consultant, speaker, and award-winning author. He has been quoted by leading news firms such as MSNBC, MSN, Encarta and AOL, as well as major publications including Education Executive, Chief Learning Officer Magazine, HR Trade Journals, and The American Society for Training and Development.
Since 1988 Nathan has served over 100 different colleges and universities across the US and abroad - aiding them with strategic adult enrollment services and cutting-edge adult centric curriculum. His work also spans leading learning organizations such as Mobil Oil, Pfizer, New Jersey Natural Gas, Delta Air Lines, FDNY and The Wackenhut Corporation. His board service includes multiple years and chairmanship of non-traditional credit organizations such as The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Services. As an author, his book, Corporate Learning Strategies (2006), received the accolade of being named The American Society of Training and Development's Spotlight Book of the Year.
Prior to Education Strategy, Nathan worked as an independent consultant under the trade name of Drawing Board Consulting Group and served as the founding president of Synergistics, Inc., both in the educational services sector. He also served as Vice President at Advance Consulting Network and Center Director for the Metro Toledo campus of Spring Arbor University. Nathan still teaches adult learners in an online format and remains current as a practitioner within his trade.
His educational credentials include a bachelors degree in Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan College; a master's degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University; extensive post graduate work totaling over 40 doctoral credits in Social Psychology and Organizational Development at Bowling Green State University; and a doctoral degree (honoris causa) in Commercial Science from John Dewey University, awarded to him for his significant advancement of the business learning field.
Teresa Shafer, Ph.D. is Sr. Vice President of Education Strategy. Teresa demonstrates her passion for serving adult students as a full-time faculty member at Tiffin University (TU) and consultant with Education Strategy. She brings over twenty years of higher education experience having served in a various positions including, Admissions and Financial Aid Counselor, Academic Advisor, Director of Public Relations at The Ohio State University and Director of Accelerated Degree Programs, Dean of Arts and Sciences and most recently as Dean of Assessment and Accreditation at TU. Teresa served as an adjunct faculty member at a number of colleges and universities before joining TU, where she currently holds the rank of Professor of Sociology and Management.
Teresa serves as an assessment specialist with the North Central Association of the Higher Learning Commission. Her specialty is student learning and faculty development programs. Teresa became involved with Education Strategy in 1996 as TU's first Director of Accelerated Degree Programs where she led the successful start-up operation for the university, now one of the school's premiere programs.
In addition to her educational industry experience, Teresa brings over fifteen years of corporate sales and marketing experience from both the profit and non-profit sectors as well a professional certification within the insurance field.
Her academic credentials include an associate's and bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, and a master's and doctorate degree from Bowling Green State University in the areas of Social Psychology and Organizational Behavior. Teresa continued her education at Harvard's Graduate School of Education earning a certificate in Educational Leadership and Management.
