Abstract

What do ASU, Emory, St. Leo and UPenn have in common? They all use GoingOn to create their next generation Academic Engagement Network. Come see how.

Extended Abstract

At GoingOn, our mission is to enable institutions of higher education to extend online learning beyond the confines of “the course,” by delivering a platform that provides expanded community management, academic networking and information streaming capabilities. GoingOn’s Academic Engagement Network enables participants to connect, collaborate and learn in new, more engaging ways. The results include increased student engagement, improved faculty productivity, enhanced online learning and broader marketing outreach.

GoingOn delivers a unified solution for deploying an institution-wide network of user-configured communities. GoingOn’s network transforms antiquated portals, static online learning systems into a thriving social environment. Built on a modern, open source foundation, GoingOn is designed to allow non-technical users to quickly and easily deploy a variety of highly useful academic community types. The result is a uniquely modern approach to building and managing social knowledge and a new generation of web infrastructure needed to support the social campus, today, and for the future.
