Abstract

This presentation, based on Eduventures unique research, will make sense of the complexity of the contemporary online higher education market, and forecast the decade ahead.

Extended Abstract

This presentation will summarize the state-of-play in the online higher education market. In 2011, the online higher education market is characterized by complex trends, some novel, some familiar. Familiar trends include robust demand for online delivery, and ever more schools entering the market. Novel trends include a more demanding regulatory environment, for-profit school repositioning, and softening enrollment performance in some areas. With the addition of a vulnerable economy, and mixed messages from consumers, the future of online higher education, now operating at unprecedented scale, appears far less straightforward than in years past. This presentation will make sense of developments, and forecast the decade ahead.
