Abstract

As more people learn about and use social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumbler, Diigo and blogs, incorporating some of these social media into online classes can result in increased interest and interaction among students and faculty. This workshop will explore Twitter, Facebook and blogs and familiarize attendees with these social media. Further, the workshop will explore best practices that might be used with each. No previous experience with social media is needed, but experienced users are most welcome to come and collaborate on developing a set of best, current practices with social media and online learning. Workshop participants should bring a laptop or netbook computer to participate in this hands on social media workshop.
