Abstract
This presentation will highlight the integration of live, synchronous library instruction into distance learning courses in an effort to support the students research needs as well as provide exposure to the library's invisible web resources as a means of collecting information.
Extended Abstract

As more and more courses are being provided in the online environment, more and more students are bypassing trips to campus completely which includes never stepping foot into the library. In order to provide our online students with equity in access and equity in library resource instruction, synchronous library instruction has been successfully integrated into a wide variety of courses at a large community college using the online meeting software, Adobe Connect. This presentation will highlight the use of the software as an effective and engaging means to expose students to resources as well as research skills all while putting a "live" face to the name of the library. Highlights of session recordings will be presented as well as a quick tour of the software's best and potential best practices for use with it. Social presence theory as it pertains to this type of instruction will be addressed. The presenter looks forward to captivating the audience with this highly successful venture!
