2011 MERLOT Award Winner - Statistics
Beth Chance and Allan Rossman are Professors of Statistics at Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo. They have co-authored the Workshop Statistics series and also of Investigating Statistical Concepts, Applications, and Methods, both of which adopt an active learning approach to learning introductory statistics. They are both Fellows of the American Statistical Association and heavily involved in the Advanced Placement program in Statistics. Dr. Chance was the inaugural winner of the Waller Education Award for innovation and excellence in teaching introductory statistics. Dr. Rossman was one of the recipients of the Mathematical Association of Americas Haimo Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics in 2010.
