A virtual school offers a student the ability to complete a course on their own schedule, from any location.  One challenge in providing individualized learning plans is that students may feel disconnected from each other and miss the opportunity to learn from their peers.  Multi-player online learning games may hold a solution:  By providing a venue for learners to interact, they can extend the benefits of peer-collaboration to the geographically-dispersed students in a virtual school.

We discuss a pilot study at Florida Virtual School, in which Algebra students used Grockit's collaborative learning games to supplement their standard curriculum.
