Dr. Lorri Mon demonstrates techniques for virtual world active learning that support learning styles theory with experiences for kinesthetic, auditory, visual, and textual learners, as well as consideration of special issues for disabled learners. Participants will receive activity guides, lesson plans, and Second Life locations for obtaining free in-world teaching resources, and will engage in breakout groups on integrating specific teaching techniques such as problem-based learning, simulations, games, tours, roleplay and community service learning into their own subject areas and presentation styles.
