A new pedagogical concept which combines elearning with elements of cooperative open learning is called eCOOL. A central part is the structured combination of elearning-assignments with this method and delivery through constructivistic online-learning-systems. The concept uses the methodological-didactical construct of elearning-sequences and defines the goal to be used where a methodological enhancement of elearning with elements of cooperative open learning is useful. Elearning is enhanced with group-work, offline-phases, social phases and a constructivistic individual learning experience. Feedback given by students, self- and peer-evaluation, different ways of reflection and usage of eportfolios are part of typical ecool-assignments.
