Edutainment: Using mobile learning, animations and interactivity to engage reluctant students

Engaging students in a class they dread creates an opportunity to use technologies that students relate to. This on-line course (Basic Statistics) uses mobile learning, avatars, animation and a high degree of interactivity to engage students. Students design their own mobile learning modules to explain how to solve problems they have missed on exams. The class also utilizes avatars for lecture voiceovers, animations and music as rewards and interactive homework problems.
