Faculty Engagement Standards

Teaching and learning online require a different engagement style with students, than with an onsite course. This alone requires faculty to re-examine their teaching style for the online classroom. In this session, we’ll explore best practices in quality of engagement when teaching online (e.g. How soon should I respond to a posting in the Virtual Office or an email? Should I respond to every single posting in a threaded discussion? How strong of a presence should I have?). The learning outcome is for participants to recognize best practices when constructing standards of faculty engagement, for the online course.
