Traditional venues for networking with professionals often include events that are often highly structured and can lack the spontaneity needed to share ideas when they occur or solve immediate problems. As a solution to this, a group of innovative educational personnel created the CyberSalon as an unofficial learning community. In this session we'll discuss scholarship about professional development, how and why the CyberSalon got started, the technology tools used to create the interaction, outcomes and topics that the group has achieved/explored, its impact on professional and personal relationships, and provide a roadmap (the secret 3Ws) for creating participants own organizations.
