Learning team charters: Indispensable documents for student collaboration

The learning team charter provides a student-directed basis for instructor, peer, and self-evaluation as well as guiding short-term teams through the stages of group formation and intervening when trouble arises (as it often does!). Student team are often thrown together with little thought, even less guidance and then expected to produce high quality artifacts accounting for a significant share of the individual student's grade. Under such conditions, it is little wonder that student often express dissatisfaction with group assignments. Participants will receive indispensable tools to improve team functioning and student satisfaction with learning teams.
