Webinar based instruction provides an effective learning experience for online students that includes synchronous interactivity that is as effective as or more effective than face-to-face classes.  Unfortunately, online students have difficulty attending at a set time.  The speaker will present a collaborative model that provides students with multiple times to choose from so that they can all benefit from real time interaction with their instructor and with each other.  This model also includes the sharing of expertise and resources that enhance the quality of the course.  Research conducted by educational researchers at UC Santa Barbara will also be presented.
