A Professional Development Model to Support Faculty as they Learn to Teach Online
April 30, 2010 - 10:14am | by rtbrown
This session will present a faculty professional development model for creating and teaching effective online courses. Barriers to online teaching will be discussed and research will be shared. Teaching online requires a different pedagogy than face-to-face instruction, and interactivity is very different in the online environment. This hybrid professional development model features a team including seasoned online faculty, librarians, instructional developers, multimedia specialists and students. Feedback on the workshop through the eyes of a faculty member will be given as she reflects on the workshop and her initial experience teaching online. Video clips from other workshop participants will be shared.
