This paper presents research from designing and testing an m-learning (mobile phone) financial education game to counter financial exclusion. The eighteen month project sponsored by Vodafone UK teaches financial education to secondary school children aged between 13 and 15 years old, but can be extrapolated for teaching at any age. This game tested the hypothesis of increasing financial education to decrease the chances of being financially excluded. The research encapsulates: why an m-learning game was used; the unique development of the game; predevelopment research into audience and engagement; how the game worked and the findings of the research.
