Teaching and Learning Empathy Through Online Simulation Role-Playing
April 30, 2010 - 10:14am | by rtbrown
My presentation introduces the audience to Dr. Stover's Conflict Resolution Simulation (http://www.scu.edu/crs), an effective tool to engage students in international relations and teach empathy. CRS is unique in that SCU students partner with students from Middle Eastern universities to simulate real life crises and negotiate solutions. CRS is played over the Internet, and is being developed for Second Life, a virtual environment. Participants will understand how the simulation works, why it works effectively, and how they can obtain permission to use the CRS in their own courses.
