Pre-Conference Workshop (1/2 Day)
July 20, 2010 - 1:30pm
Empire Room

This workshop will provide guidance and resources to instructors interested in helping their students become active creators of discipline-relevant multimedia. It will present a process by which concepts, data, and insights can be approached, examined, and translated into tangible media forms. The workshop will include review of free and user-friendly online media-authoring tools, and examine exemplary online media produced through such tools. It will also address how existing online multimedia can be located and repurposed into presentations and learning objects, and as well, how digital stories and presentations can be made with facility from scratch. Participants should bring laptops to engage in media-relevant activities.
