Part of the University of Alaska Anchorage’s vision is to strengthen educational programs as well as expand educational opportunities supporting lifelong learning. One way of accomplishing this goal is to ensure that the individuals responsible for delivering instruction have adequate resources and training to do so effectively. The UAA Instructional Design Resource Center presented at this session provides faculty with an opportunity for anytime/anywhere training that can assist them in the development of new, innovative programs and approaches to teaching and learning.

 


Bios
Amanda Albright is an Instructional Designer at the University of Alaska Anchorage(UAA). She has over 10 years of instructional design experience in both higher education and non-profit institutions. In addition to her position at UAA, Amanda  has served as an Instructional Designer at Immaculata University and provided consultation services to Reading Area Community College. Prior to working in Higher Education, Amanda was the Manager of In-Zoo Educational Programs at the Philadelphia Zoo where she designed curriculum and delivered programming to a broad audience. She holds a BS in Elementary Education with concentration in the sciences from Penn State University and an MS in Instructional Design from Philadelphia University.
 
JoAnn Gonzalez-Major has provided Instructional Design services at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) since the summer of 2007. She also consults within Higher Education and K12 institutions on the design of learner centered curriculum and the seamless integration of technology into the learning environment. Prior to joining UAA, she was a professor of Pharmaceutical Management at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she coordinated efforts with her peers to take the entire program online. She has also served as Director of the Instructional Design graduate program at Philadelphia University, Director of Instructional Design Services at Immaculata University, and training manager for AT &T.
