To register for a Sloan-C workshop, simply click on the registration page of the web site, click on the workshop you want to take, and enter the required information including payment options.
Yes, all of the Sloan-C workshops are held online in Moodle.
Most are $345, longer workshops are $495.
No, you do not need to be a member to participate in a Sloan-C workshop.
Most workshops require a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week.
No, Sloan-C workshops are held in Moodle, and only require an internet access. However,
having a noise-reduction headset and microphone is recommended to participate fully in the
live sessions.

No, currently the Sloan Consortium does not offer CEU’s for their workshops.
To use your College Pass for a workshop, in the checkout screen enter your College Pass code when prompted.

The workshops in the Blended Learning Track and the Second Life Workshops should be taken in order. Also, the Getting Started workshop is required as a pre-requisite to the Sloan-C Teaching Certificate if you do not have online teaching experience.
Sloan-C facilitators are experts in the field of online education. Each facilitator has a biography listed in the workshop description that shares information about his/herself
including their credentials.
When you register for a Sloan-C workshop, an email will be sent to you that provides
step-by-step instructions for accessing the course. Sloan-C workshops are held in Moodle,
and require an enrollment key, which will be provided to you prior to the workshop start
date.
All of Sloan-C’s workshops are held in Moodle and most use Elluminate LIVE! as the platform
for their live sessions.
Workshop participants can access the course materials for one year from the start date of
the workshop.

Yes, You must complete the required workshop deliverable and satisfaction survey in order to
download your certificate of completion.
No, courses are not open for login until noon (EST) on their scheduled start date.
Typically, each workshop consists of 2 live sessions – one half-hour Orientation session
where you will learn about Moodle and Elluminate LIVE as well as how to navigate the
workshop space.
No, as long as you have internet access, you can participate in Sloan-C workshops from any
location.
If you register and pay for a Sloan-C workshop/seminar and are unable to attend, we will be
happy to apply your payment to another Sloan-C workshop/seminar at your request. However, no refunds will be given. This offer is good for one year.
Sloan-C workshops are labeled Levels 1-3. Descriptions are as follows:
- Level 1: For the beginner participant who has not taught or designed online courses but
easily uses email, word processing, and other office applications.
- Level 2: For the intermediate participant who has taught or designed a few online courses
and easily uses online technologies such as discussion boards, instant messaging and online
web conferencing products.
- Level 3: For the advanced participant who has taught or designed many online courses and
easily uses web 2.0 technologies such as blogs, videos and podcasts, wikis, and virtual
worlds.

Yes, the workshops are accessible. However, if you require special accommodations, please
contact workshop@sloanconsortium.org for assistance.
Since a wide variety of topics are covered, many institutions choose to obtain membership or
the College Pass to offer workshops to their institution. Whether your institution is
looking for the basics of online learning or want to keep up with the trends, the Sloan-C
workshops are a great way to bring faculty development to your faculty and administrators.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer scholarships for our workshops.
The Sloan-C Institute is holding a call for workshop proposals for the 2012 calendar year.
Although Sloan-C highly recommends that you register prior to the workshop start date,
registrations are accepted until 48 hours after the start time. Most Sloan-C workshops open
at noon Eastern Time on Wednesdays and registration closes at noon on Fridays.
The length of Sloan-C workshops varies, but most are eight business days. Workshops open on Wednesday and close the following Friday. Some of the advanced workshops are 21 days. Please see our complete list of 2010 workshops for exact dates and lengths at

College Pass is a program that provides institutions 100 seats in the widely acclaimed
Sloan-C online workshop series for one calendar year. Many institutions use the workshops as
a cost-effective and convenient way to improve quality in online education while networking
