Certificate: Foundation Course Only
The Sloan-C Certificate is offered as a sequence of one foundation course and three electives leading from the conceptual to the implementation of online learning effectiveness best practices. The program's theoretical underpinning stems from Sloan-C's five pillars of quality in online education: student satisfaction, access, learning effectiveness, faculty satisfaction, and institutional cost effectiveness. Participants must commit to taking the foundation course prior to taking electives.
- Pre-requisite: Participants who have less than a year of online teaching experience must take our workshop titled “New to Online: The Essentials."
- Prequisite: For the Sloan-C Certificate Program, you will be required to develop a new online course or revise an online course that you've already developed. So, as a prerequisite, you need to have an online or blended course that you can edit OR you can create a new online/blended course, of at least two weeks in duration, from scratch (we can provide you with a LMS shell if you need).
- Electives: Only workshops taken after you begin the Certificate Program Foundation Course can count as electives for the Certificate Program.
