Respondus Monitor & Exam Integrity at Jacksonville State University - Free
Learn how to tackle integrity issues for online examinations, such as student identity and cheating. Staff at Jacksonville State University will discuss the leading strategies and technologies being implemented at universities, including the use of locked browsers and webcam recordings. A demonstration of Respondus Monitor will also be given, showing both the student and instructor’s perspective.
Jacksonville State University offers dozens of fully online graduate programs and hundreds of online courses. To address student identity and cheating concerns raised by instructors and accreditation bodies, JSU has been using LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor to lock down a student’s computer and inhibit the use of outside resources during the exam. This session will demonstrate how students use their own computer and a webcam to record an assessment session, and how the instructor can quickly review details of the assessment. You will also learn about key challenges with online testing, including verifying student identity, ensuring exam integrity, reducing proctoring expenses, and giving students greater flexibility as to when/where online exams are taken.
