Introduction: 

Student-built games require the learner to understand course content at a systems level, thus engaging the learning process through the demonstration of course concepts, terminology, and science through modeling relationships among those topics. In this workshop, based on National University's work on the HP Catalyst Grant, you will learn about techniques and tools you can use to successfully introduce student-built games into your online STEM courses.

Upon successful completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe basic principles of game design
  • Apply principles of game design to development of learning outcomes
