Faculty Learning Communities Aug 2012

$345.00
Event Date:
July 25, 2012 - August 3, 2012

Even though we, as faculty, pride ourselves on being life-long learners, we are frequently isolated from our peers, particularly when teaching online.  A Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is a small group of faculty (7-20 members) who meet (in person or via web conferencing) to learn new tools, share unique teaching strategies, collaborate on solutions to common problems, and reflect on teaching in general.  FLC participants appreciate having a scheduled time to discuss teaching dilemmas, learn something new, and have conversations with colleagues.   This workshop, set up as a FLC in order to give you the opportunity to experience the concept, will provide strategies for facilitating a FLC, show you how to identify common needs for online faculty who participate, and locate potential sources of funding.
