Distance Learning Innovator John Bourne to Speak at American Sentinel University Commencement
AURORA, Colo. - (Business Wire) John Bourne, Ph.D., executive director of The Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C™) and professor of technology at Babson College and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Franklin W. Olin College, will present the commencement address at American Sentinel University’s graduation ceremony on June 25, 2010, in Denver. American Sentinel University is an accredited online university headquartered in Aurora, Colo., that provides healthcare, technology and business degree programs for professionals.
Dr. Bourne is a prominent innovator in distance learning methods, including being one of the first to utilize Second Life® as a virtual classroom. His commencement speech, titled “Online Education: Why you are Perfectly Positioned to Succeed in Life,” addresses the distinct advantages of distance learners to continue lifelong learning and build careers through social networking and creating a personal brand.
