What's your favorite rubric?
Rubrics are useful for articulating and norming values, making them transparent for evaluators and evaluees. Next month, we’ll publish a new rubric drawn from Sloan-C member institutions’ about the quality indicators for the administration of online programs. Meanwhile, you are welcome to add to the list below by adding links to rubrics you favor.
Derived from the Sloan-C quality framework to measure access, learning effectiveness, faculty and student satisfaction and scale, the rubric for effective practices, for example, evaluates practices by these metrics:
· Innovation
· Replicability
· Potential impact on the field if many adopted it.
· Supporting documentation of evidence of effectiveness.
· Scope
The Community of Inquiry model measures student perceptions of effectiveness via 34 indicators for
· Social presence
· Cognitive presence
· Teaching presence
The California State University Chico Rubric for Online Instruction evaluates courses in six areas:

The Quality Matters rubric specifies forty specific elements to evaluate the design of online and hybrid courses in eight areas:
