JALN Call for Papers for Special Issue on Scale in Anytime Anywhere Education: September 15, 2010

The Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks (JALN) calls for papers for a Special Issue on Scale in Anytime Anywhere Education. As demand for online and blended education grows, the intent of the issue is to present models of scalability.  Models should describe online and/or blended activities that illustrate how programs or institutions provide greater access, learning effectiveness and faculty and student satisfaction. Whenever possible, data should be included – for example, increases in enrollments, evidence of providing additional access to education for special populations, evidence of the effectiveness of scalable design and delivery, improved or equivalent learning outcomes, and especially interesting innovations that would be of interest to the entire Sloan-C community. Submissions may be in the form of institutional case studies or research on trends.
The editor for the issue is Rick Oliver, CEO, American Sentinel University.
By August 15, 2010, please review JALN guidelines and submit papers to http://jaln.sloanconsortium.org.   Papers should be not more than 5000 words and 3 figures.
Brief submissions (3-500 words) on this topic are also invited to Sloan-C Effective Practices. Effective practices are automatically eligible for annual awards to be evaluated by innovation, replicability, impact, evidence and scope.
