David Wicks

David Wicks has been involved in the instructional technology world for over 20 years. His previous positions include: high school teacher, university lecturer, school district technology facilitator, multimedia author, and project manager. His current position is Director of Instructional Technology at Seattle Pacific University. As Director, David regularly consults with faculty on appropriate uses of technology and has been involved in the development of numerous online and blended courses. In addition, he has taught online courses in the School of Education for over ten years. Recent projects include: developing a Web 2.0 electronic portfolio system based on WordPress technology, creating a feature-comparison matrix for lecture capture solutions, and leading SPU’s iTunes U project which averages 70,000 downloads a month.

David is an Associate Editor for MERLOT’s Teacher Education Editorial Board. He is the program chair for the 2012 International Symposium for Emerging Technologies in Online Learning.  David is also the Co-Chair of the MacLearning.org Steering Committee where he encourages educators to share how they are integrating Apple technology into their pedagogy.
