Board of Directors President, Meg Benke announced the selection of Bruce Chaloux as Sloan-C’s new executive director and chief executive officer, succeeding John Bourne, who is retiring from Sloan-C in March. Dr. Benke also announced Associate Director Kathleen Ives will assume added responsibilities with the Sloan-C leadership team following her promotion to chief operating officer. In addition; Chief Knowledge Officer Janet Moore has been named editor-in-chief of the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks (JALN).

"As we transition forward, we are fortunate to have Dr. Chaloux, with his extraordinary combination of skills, expertise and passion for the Sloan-C mission, leading the organization."

As online education becomes pervasive, emerging research guides rapidly developing practice in online teaching and learning. The new issue of the Sloan Consortium’s (Sloan-C’s) Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks, Volume 16.1, focuses on factors that increase student and faculty success online. Contributors to the January issue include faculty researchers from Cabrini College, Drexel University, the Pennsylvania State University, Rowan University, Texas Tech University, the University of Memphis and hundreds of institutions that have contributed to Sloan-C’s collection of effective practices.
