Dr. Reagan has been teaching physics at the College of Southern Maryland since January 2009.  Current areas of research include curriculum development and assessment for online physics courses and laboratories.

 

Prior to teaching physics, Dr. Reagan ran an independent business (15 years), worked as a technical consultant in private industry (5 years), and served on active duty in the US Air Force (7 years).  Areas of technical experience include infrared materials and coatings, plasma instabilities, rail guns, flight test planning (fixed and rotary wing), signature control, commercial space launch, and missile defense.  Other teaching experience includes employee training/mentoring (15 years), martial arts instruction (7 years), religious education instruction (7 years), and elementary school physical education (1 year).

 

Dr. Reagan has been married to Mr. Larrry Reagan for 22 years.  They have three children, ages 13 to 17, and one Chesapeake bay retriever.

I am currently researching applied instructional technology for physics education, including:

1. development of metrics and assessments for online physics courses and labs

2. in-class and web-based demonstrations

3. student engagement

4. multi-media, simualtion, and web enhacements

5. approaches to physics distance education and distributed labs
