 Barbara J. McKenna is a life-long passionate educator currently instructing, writing curriculum and teacher training at Kaplan University Online. Her study and research is in the field of brain compatible learning where she continues to creatively GICE her peers and students (Guide, Inspire, Challenge and Empower) hoping to instil unique growth and positive energy in each person with whom she interacts. Holding a Master's in Education, her goal is to publish her original ideas and to further the growth and affectiveness of online education. Barbara resides in Williamsburg, VA with her husband, also a college instructor. They have four children, all successful college graduates - one from an online university. Barbara's future goals all fall into the field of enhancing critical thinking.

Her expertise is in the development of learning in the brain from birth through life. She is dynamic and energized; a 19 year breast cancer survivor.
