Short Bio:
Jacqueline Moloney was appointed Executive Vice Chancellor for the University of Massachusetts Lowell in April, 2007 and is the first woman to serve in this role in the history of the institution. She currently provides a leadership role in long-range planning and assists the Chancellor in overseeing the University’s operations, strategic planning capital planning, and fundraising.
Moloney is known for her entrepreneurial and collegial leadership style. She has served in numerous capacities including Dean of Continuing Studies, Corporate and Online Education. Under her leadership, the Division became a $28,000,000 operation known for its high quality programs and is the recipient of Sloan-C’s Most Outstanding Faculty Development and Most Outstanding Institution-wide programming Awards. Moloney herself is the recipient of the prestigious lifetime achievement award: Most Outstanding Achievement in Online Learning in 2009 from Sloan-C.
Dr. Moloney is a member of the Graduate School of Education faculty and has authored scholarly articles on online programs, technology in the classroom; cross-disciplinary curriculum reform; and the organizational reform of higher education. She has received over $850,000 in funding from the Sloan Foundation and other organizations to fund innovation in faculty and curriculum development. Moloney has served as a contributor to the national dialogue on online education as a Board member of the Sloan Consortium.
