Area of Expertise Short Description:

I have been fortunate to hold a leadership role in nearly all aspects of our online program since the inception in 1997. We have received national recognition for "Institution-wide Excellence in Online Learning," shared the inaugural Ralph Gomory Award for Quality Online Learning, and received an excellence award from the Society for New Communications Research for online reputation management through new media. Our online and blended enrollments have grown each term for each of the past 37 fall, spring and summer semesters. Student retention and success have been outstanding.

I have had the good fortune to have presented some two hundred regional and national keynotes, conference presentations, invited college/university presentations, papers, book chapters, etc. One key to my expertise in these areas has been the daily research I conduct in the course publishing three items daily in the online learning udpate blog (more than 12,000 postings) and the educational technology blog (more than 10,000 postings). Another, more recent daily blog is recession realities which chronicles the impact of the recession on higher education.
