I am a Senior Lecturer specialising in online learning. The Anglia Ruskin University campus is in Chelmsford and Cambridge but my desk is in North Wales and I tutor undergraduates using the Internet. Students benefit from a successful approach to flexible distance learning that is based around the value of exploring and developing work-based skills through discussion and collaboration. All the BA (Hons) Learning Through Technology students are in work, so the course is designed to fit around their working lives. I use the flexibility of remote work to combine a challenging profession with family commitments, mirroring the experience of my students.
