Dr. Rickel is responsible for system-wide implementation of online training, education, and resource management at Herzing University. His operations employ more than four hundred faculty and staff with students across the United States and abroad.

Before joining Herzing University, Dr. Rickel was the Managing Partner/President of the Rickel Education Group, which provided consulting services for schools and businesses in critical business areas. Prior to that, he was with White Hat Ventures/White Hat Management with 20,000 students across 51 schools in six states as Senior Vice President Life Skills-High Schools and Chief Learning Officer. Dr. Rickel has been involved in private equity and has worked in both K-12 and post secondary private sector educational institutions.

Dr. Rickel holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural Foundations of Education, a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology – all from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He has served on national boards and conducts public speaking and media presentations. He is married and has four beautiful, intelligent daughters.
