This webinar will share research, policy and promising practices that help adult learners who are parents, achieve workforce credentials and post secondary success, via online learning. We share original research on the experiences, challenges and successes of student parents in an online environment; along with examples of programs in both the community college and workforce development that target student parents with online learning options.

In this presentation, Arizona State University will discuss its experience deploying an academic engagement network to better engage and empower its faculty across the ASU virtual campus, spanning several online programs and staff committees. This session will explore ASU’s lessons learned, established best practices, and forward-looking strategies. You don’t want to miss this month’s gathering! Are you looking to learn new tips/techniques to be more efficient in the online educational environment? Many of the individuals participating in our learning events state they are looking for new ways to increase efficiency. This brief training will provide an opportunity for you to learn different strategies. The February Certificate Program Meet & Learn will focus on learning to use three applications to improve your efficiency. Additionally, we’d like to encourage you to bring an application, tip, or technique to share with the group. The applications include:
University of the People (UoPeople) - a non-profit, tuition-free, online academic institution – aims at building a model capable of opening access to higher education for those currently constrained due to financial, geographic or societal restraints. By amalgamating open source technology, open educational resources, peer-to-peer learning and the goodwill of qualified volunteers, UoPeople is able to provide the opportunity of higher education for deprived individuals. Additionally, UoPeople’s model is capable of impacting higher education globally as parts of this model are adopted or replicated within universities and governments – thus scaling down the overall cost of higher education.
